Launched my First Picture Book
May 22, 2022
Last year I finished a picture book about our local community theater, all about the way a small theater functions. The Wilton Playshop: Inside the Heart of a Community Theater, is available in a limited first printing, and was celebrated with a gathering at the very theater that inspired the book.

Wilton Library Art Show
Show Reception, Jan 10, 2020
The opening was a big success! We had a wonderful turnout for our 9-artist show this past weekend. I was excited to be unveiling three new portraits, of Wilton's First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice, as well as the former Principal of Our Lady of Fatima, Mary Ann Bozzuti, and a Renaissance-inspired portrait of young lady named Alice. Lynne and Alice were both able to attend, and I had the thrill of Lynne seeing her portrait for the first time! We had a good crowd and I was deeply touch to see everyone who came out for me. I wanted to share the new work here and thank everyone for their interest and support in my work. If you haven't yet gone stop in and see the show before Jan. 30!
Portrait Surprise for the Subject
From my studio, December 23, 2019
One of my favorite things about portrait-painting is presenting the finished work. My young subject, Alice saw her portrait for the first time today. Her father commissioned her portrait, in Rennaissance costume as a surprise anniversay and Christmas gift for his wife, Margaret. He had a lovely photo for me to work from, so it was also a surprise for Alice, who was clearly delighted with it. I introduced the ivy and foreground flowers as a way to give this piece an more theatrical feel.
A Fifth Dog Portrait in a Series
From my studio, December 23, 2019
This is Gale. She is an eighteen-month-old, award-winning Labrador retriever. This is the fifth dog I have painted for this client. I am beyond honored by the opportunity. She and I met for a series of photos, which were easy enough to take after she realized I was a welcome guest. She has a very distinctive cowlick across the bridge of her nose and sweetest disposition.

Wilton Library’s Innovation Day
October 6 , 2019
I had a lovely time painting another demo for thier STEAM event. I choose a favorite photo of my sister, Peggy, from a few years back. I always enjoy doing public demonstrations, especially when I can show children that art is messy, and takes time. I think it is vital for young artists to understand it is a process, not a magic act.
About Me
I have always been an artist. I never had to wonder what I wanted to do when I grew up. Nothing has ever presented the endless challenge that portraiture does. It is an amazing feeling to have your work start looking back at you. Getting just the right feeling in a person’s expression is no small feat and never gets boring.
